The Doerenkamp-Zbinden-Stiftung is an internationally oriented foundation advocating the conduct of biomedical research on the basis of sound animal welfare principles. It aims at reducing the suffering of animals used in research, especially primates, monkeys, cats, dogs, rabbits and pigs, without renouncing the results of research currently carried out on laboratory animals. The foundation has been founded jointly by Prof. Dr. Gerhard Zbinden and a senior sponsor in order to reduce and replace experimentation on animals and to diminish the suffering of test animals. The web page publishes announcements, details on awards and press releases.
