Notification of hazardous mixtures and biocidal products

Anyone who, in his capacity as manufacturer or importer or using his own trade name, places a hazardous mixture or biocidal product on the market must submit product information to the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) according to Article 16e of the German Chemicals Act (Chemikaliengesetz) / German Poison Information Regulation (Giftinformationsverordnung) prior to placing it on the German market. In addition, information on all subsequent changes that may be relevant in the event of an emergency health response must also be specified and submitted to the BfR before the product is placed on the market in its changed condition.

Hazardous mixtures are mixtures classified as hazardous in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP Regulation) on account of their health, physical or environmental hazards. The BfR forwards all received information on products to the German poison information centres.
