Junior research groups at the BfRshort forGerman Federal Institute for Risk Assessment are primarily dedicated to research and offer young scientists excellent opportunities t odo research and acquire scientific qualifications in the BfRshort forGerman Federal Institute for Risk Assessment's main research areas.

The junior research groups are assigned to a department as independent working units. They are supervised by scientists who have completed their doctorates and are at the beginning of their scientific careers, and are supported by two doctoral students as well as a technical assistant. The modern technical equipment is also available to the junior research groups. The maximum duration is six years, with an interim evaluation after two and a half years.
